Harrow Council is Highly Commended
Awards in 2010
Harrow was Highly Commended (2nd place) for the Most Improved Council award at the recent Local Government Chronicle (LGC) Awards 2010. This award highlights how Harrow Council has continued to improve, and builds on our nomination for Best Achieving Council at the Municipal Journal awards in 2009.

Our innovative use of GPS (digital technology) in our bin trucks has picked up three awards this year in the E-Governance Awards, the Professional Planning Forum Awards, and the Guardian National Awards 2010. The council also received a Community Partnership Award for our work with the Somali Interagency Task Force in January 2010.
The council is nominated for awards in summer 2010 from the Municipal Journal (MJ) awards 2010 for our 'Total Place' project and four awards in the Local Government Association (LGA) Group LGCommunications Reputation Awards for Partnership, Crisis Communications, Reputation and Value for Money.
