Future High Streets Fund

The Future High Streets Fund was launched by the Ministry of Housing, Communities & Local Government (MHCLG) in December 2018 and is a key part of the Government’s plan to renew and reshape town centres and to make them more attractive places to live, work and visit.

The Council originally submitted a bid for funding from the Future High Streets Fund for Wealdstone Town Centre, and was successfully awarded £7,448,583.

In June 2023 the Council successfully applied to the Department for Levelling Up Housing and Communities (DLUHC) to switch the funding to another scheme to improve the Harrow metropolitan town centre area.

In Autumn 2023 we will be running a consultation and holding engagement events to tell you more about the proposals.

Find out more on our consultation website where this information will be available from Monday 30th October.
