A specially created website just for children, complete with a message board and writer's blogs, will capture children's responses to the books they are reading, and the challenges offered by Breathing Places. There will be games and activities plus special tips on how to get involved with nature and make a positive difference to your local environment, plus a parent's corner with tips and activities to support their children taking part.
The Big Wild Read has close links with the BBC Breathing Places campaign as well as with the Woodland Trust's Tree for all Campaign. The Woodland Trust will be planting new trees in woods all over the U.K. for every book you read as part of your Big Wild Read challenge.
A special Launch Event, to be opened by the Mayor of Harrow, will take place at Hatch End Library on Saturday 14th July, 10.30- 4.30pm. Come and meet the Library Lion and have fun joining in with a variety of big wild activities and storytelling. Open to all ages!
