Unpaid carers
Do you look after a friend, relative or neighbour?
Carers are family members or friends who, without being paid, regularly look after someone who wouldn't be able to manage at home without help. Carers may be adults or young people either living with the person they support or somewhere else.
This does not mean a professional care worker or personal assistant who gets paid for their work.
Being identified as a carer can help you get the right support you need to look after the person you care for.
